About Us
A community movement to subsidize our food pantries with garden produce.
The goal of this community building movement is to increase the amount of donated produce from local gardens to food shelves to benefit those in need. Fresh vegetables can be the most expensive items on a grocery list. When it comes to food assistance this is especially costly. The availability of nutritious food is not something that should be a challenge this day in age.
How to get involved?
- Start your own garden.
- Whether you live in an apartment and container garden on a balcony, or have 5 acres in the country, it all starts with growing.
- Help someone else start a garden.
- If you don’t have the space a friend, neighbor, or family member might!
- Do you work or visit businesses with unused commercial space? Ask to put in a garden!
- Drop off your donations at pickup points during the season.
- NDSU extension service in partnership with Great Plains Food Bank has multiple locations in the FM area where you can drop off mid-summer to early fall!
